Lou's Post Branding
CLIENT: LOU’S POST
STYLE GUIDE
ART DIRECTOR + DESIGNER:
Brittany Campbell
Inspired by her teenage daughters’ experiences shopping for hip, fun and modest clothing, the founder reached out to me to design a logo, brand system and website.
LOGO EXPLORATION
I started my logo creation by really focusing on Lou’s Post’s target audience. Lou gals are teenagers who are urban dwellers but thrive in traveling and seeing the world, whether they’re camping, going abroad, or exploring their own city.
My client loved the logo for Opt 2 but loved the colors and moodboard for Opt 1 so we merged the two concepts to create a strong brand that really fits the Lou’s Post customer.
ICONS
Icons were hand drawn and made to look like a teen’s doodle of notebooks.
These icons could also be added to photos on the website, print materials and social posts.
SHOPIFY WEBSITE
Using shopify, I applied our brand standards to the website. Main rules included:
Use of brand colors and fonts
No cropping models’ heads
Use icons to compliment photos
Show clothing being used or in flatlay
Copy is approachable and personal
For the Product Page, we focused on showing product images from the front, back, and styled with another item. Clothing will always be worn by a model.
For the initial launch, we didn’t implement a ratings/reviews tool however, we have customers submit their own photos and reviews to add to the product description so future customers could see different body sizes and styling for social proof.
In addition, we created custom Fit Guides for each type of clothing since Lou’s Post sells many different brands of clothing.
